Copland is a film from 1997 about a sheriff who is given the opportunity to become a police officer in a sought after area; Garrison New Jersey. However as he comes to terms with the community something doesn't seem quite right. The entire place is controlled by the ones with badges, the police do what they want when they want and have connections with the mob. There are aspects of our film that are similar to this, for example the mob connections and corrupt police force.
The Negotiator made in 1998 also resembles our film in the fact that there is a main character who is framed and the police force after events go sour and they are close to being discovered try everything to kill him.
